Unbalanced Grid Faults Ride By StatCom Control at Fixed Speed Induction Generator Wind Farm

Fixed speed induction generator (FSIG) having high asymmetrical fault percentage than variable speed. Even though there are different ways to control these faults StatCom control method to compensate reactive power is one of the useful and highly beneficial method. In this paper the FSIG wind farm is observed under unbalanced grid fault with StatCom connected to it with the help of MATLAB simulation and theory. MATLAB simulation for open loop system is carried out and closed loop StatCom control simulation is under process. Please include a brief abstract here. The fault is cleared when StatCom is connected to system i.e. positive and negative sequence of the grid voltage is compensated. Negative sequence compensation is useful for reducing torque oscillations. The stability of FSIG wind farm can be improved by this method.
